A Day of Rest
We’ve led a crazy life for the past week. My husband and I spent one evening together last week, one evening where we didn’t have someplace to go or something to do. We also had a crazy weekend - with a night out on Saturday and the boys had a sleepover with their Grandparents, then we were off again on Sunday for a day’s adventure.
Today, I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. Not only am I completely exhausted, but I’ve managed to run myself down so much that I’ve made myself sick. I woke up with a sore throat, a burning nose, a weird feeling in my belly, and just an overall achy feeling. My voice doesn’t work and my eyes just don’t seem to want to stay open either.
The boys have been really great so far today, too, they must know that mom-mom doesn’t feel well. Sam has kept himself busy with his train, magnet letters, and animal puzzles. Max has taken good naps and been overly content with life today.
One of the things which sucks the most about being a stay-at-home mother is not having any sick days. If I was working, today would definitely be one of those days that I would just stay home and rest. Of course, the kids would still go to the babysitter, though.
So now I am going to plant myself on the couch and enjoy some restful time while I watch Ellen DeGeneres and Days of Our Lives. I hope that I will feel better later.
